Podcasting

Podcasting

Description

A podcast is an audio blog, as well as a method of delivering audio and video files over the Internet – using RSS or Atom syndication—to mobile devices, such as ipods, and computers.

Uses and Potential Benefits

Presentations at your organization, as well as speeches, interviews, or other messages can be recorded and broadcasted to a wide audience over the Internet.  Users can download and listen to the podcast when they want -  using their ipod while riding the subway to work, for example.  Example: a foundation might sponsor a discussion among experts on an issue, record it, and then place it on the web as a podcast as an information resource.
