Photo Sharing

Description

Photo sharing sites allow users to upload their digital photos to the web for archiving and viewing by others over the Internet.

Uses and Potential Benefits

An easy way for an organization to provide access to photos, or to find photos on a specific topic.  Some sites allow users to create community scrapbooks allowing archiving or preserving memories of particular events.  Example: a foundation might hold a conference for grantees of an initiative, and document the event through a series of photos posted as a scrapbook on the web.
