Allows incorporation of outside data into geographic maps for display on the web or in mapping software.
Uses and Potential Benefits
GIS maps can present demographic or other data on a specific community, note where money is being allocated and where it is not, and assist organizations in presenting or analyzing information. Example: a community foundation might provide maps of its community detailed with data on community issues, e.g. educational attainment, pollution, housing.
